I joined our Canadian Hummer Club friends at the A.M. General playground and off-road area at South Bend, Indiana. It was my first off-road experience with my 1996 H1. The learning experience cost me a tire, a half-shaft, and lots of repairs to my CTIS system. It was worth all the hassle and all the expense. I learned to drive my H1, figuring out "accelerator-brake modulation" about mid-way through the second day in the woods. Thanks to our Canadian friends; I had a great time. Thanks, too, to our hosts at A.M. General!
